Juliano de Arruda Campos
Juliano was born in Tatuí (Brazil), where he iniciated his musical studies at the Conservatory of Tatuí in 1979, graduating in Recorder and Flute. Graduated in the University of São Paulo as a Bachelor of Music, under Antonio Carlos Carrasqueira’s tuition, where he still develops further studies at the graduate program – on the subjects “Harmonic Conceptions of the XX Century” and “Theory of the Creation of Music”.
Some of his teachers were the conductors: Dario Sotelo, Marco Antonio da Silva Ramos, Gil Jardim, Aylton Escobar, Olivier Tony and many others. He won the II National Concurs of Music of FASM – Faculdade Santa Marcelina in 1990.
He has been invited to perform as Flutist and Conductor in festivals throughout Brazil. Some of these festivals are: Campos do Jordão Music Festival, International Festival of Brasilia, Bauru Winter Festival, Festival of the Free Musical Expression of Iguape, 1st International Wood Meeting of Orchestra, International Winter Course of Presidente Prudente, Prados Music Festival, Ourinhos Music Festival, Itu Festival of Art, Curso de Férias de Tatuí, International Meeting of Flutists of Tatuí, opening concert of the Festival das Montanhas of Poços de Caldas, concerts with the Paulista Symphony Orchestra in Tatuí, São Paulo, São Vicente, Ourinhos and Itapetininga, and at other international events as: The Midwest Clinic – An International Band and Orchestra Conference 53rd Annual Convention in Chicago – Illinois (USA), where he also participated in the activities of the Art Department of the William Jones Academic Magnet High School, teaching flute and playing in the end year concert as a special guest. He attended Sir James Galway’s Masterclass in Milan (Italy), Weggis and Interlaken (Switzerland), and was invited as a conductor/teacher guest for the International Summer Course in Premeno (Italy), organized by the flutist Raffaele Trevisani, with whom he has been following advanced studies since 2002.
He has conducted many quails and coordinated activities at the schools: Anglo and OSE Uirapuru of Sorocaba and Terra-Lima of Tatuí, besides being the first flute at the “Coral Museu Lasar Segall” in São Paulo and assistant conductor at the quail Libercanto of Fundação Cultural “Cassiano Ricardo” in São José dos Campos.
Nowadays he has worked as a flutist and conductor; first flute and assistant conductor at the Paulista Symphony Orchestra at the Conservatory of Tatuí, where he also conducts the Brazilian Flute Orchestra “João Dias Carrasqueira”.
In 2007 - 2008 have confirmed their participation in festivals: Sir James Galway's International Flute Masterclass (Weggis - Switzerland), Raffaele Trevisani International Summer Course (Premeno - Italy), International Meeting of Flautists of Patagonia (Argentina), International Course Flautists of Asuncion (Paraguay), International Course Flautists of Lima (Peru), International Course Flautists of Itu, the International Festival of Flautists Abraf in São João Del Rei (MG) and Maringa (PR).
He is Artist Powell Flutes (USA) and plays with a flute made especially for him.
